Adriana Mather is a self-taught writer. She studied Spanish, History and International Relations in college, but it took her years to finish her first novel. So she set aside her novel and moved to Venezuela, where she lived for six years. There, she wrote three more novels and worked as a reporter for two newspapers. Her first novel, The Midnight Star (2012), was published and her second novel and first book of poetry, The Emancipated (2013), will be released this fall.
Adriana lives with her husband and their two children in Michigan, where she is drinking tea and dreaming of another book.
